About the Company I'm representing an established electrical company, dedicated to the decarbonization of Australia through innovative BESS projects. About the Role As a Design Manager BESS, you will spearhead the design and execution of Battery Storage projects from initial concept through to final implementation. This role demands a comprehensive knowledge of battery technologies and electrical systems, along with a strong design acumen using design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and electrical design tools to develop detailed plans. Key Responsibilities Lead the engineering and design phases of BESS projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations Develop technical specifications, scopes of work, and engineering plans for battery storage systems Collaborate with project managers to establish project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine the optimal configuration and placement of battery storage systems Coordinate with external partners, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless integration of BESS into existing electrical systems Perform detailed engineering calculations and simulations to validate the performance and safety of battery storage systems Lead troubleshooting and issue resolution during project execution, addressing technical challenges that may arise Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field (preference to Electrical background) Minimum of 3 years of experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS), with a proven track record of successfully delivering utility-scale projects In-depth knowledge of various energy storage technologies and related components Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and grid integration Understanding in engineering software/tools for design and simulation of battery systems Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interfacing with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Problem-solving mindset and the ability to approach challenges creatively and analytically Benefits Work on renewable projects Office based in Brisbane Attractive Salary in offer If you are a highly motivated Design Manager BESS with a passion for renewable energy and battery storage, we encourage you to apply and become a key contributor to an innovative and forward-thinking organization.
