About the role Reporting to the Longwall Superintendent, you will work with the Longwall team and develop Tahmoor’s longwall automation process. You will also be responsible for achieving continuous improvement initiative of reduced cut profile through improved system control through automation. You will support and lead activities in the relevant department to provide the planning, scheduling, supervision and performance of resources, necessary to meet the department plan and targeted objectives. The role is based out of Tahmoor site. Responsibilities include: • Building the functional specification which will form the basis of how site operates the Longwall • Develop understanding of Tahmoor’s specific equipment and existing operational strategy including major risks • Overseeing the installation and commissioning of the system including risk management • Working with site system engineers to integrate longwall automation process • Assisting in the identification, communication, and implementation of continuous business improvement initiatives to contribute to the overall long-term business plan of the mine • Providing ongoing support to operation personnel through varying forms of training delivery • Establishing methods for monitoring overall performance of longwall • Providing monthly reports to the Longwall Superintendent on performance and deficiencies including action plans, major delays and works completed • Leading and maintaining a safe workplace through active compliance with safety systems and ensuring adherence to all HSEC policies and proceduresAbout your experience We are looking for a curious and solution-oriented person who is commercially savvy and thinks like an investor.
