Durability Test Engineer — The Rocks, Sydney

Join us. Job Purpose: Support the vehicle-based development and testing of Aston Martin products. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Define the vehicle level DVP together with function VLMs based on a risk assessment of change content Definition of the daily test plan (cycles, inspections and controls), according to the resources and facilities available Execution of test activities based on project and function requirements, making contingency plans as required Runsheet creation for driving activity requests (mileage, manoeuvres, checks and controls) Prototype Workshop Request creation to execute safety checks, control plan, vehicle updates and support issue RCA Management and execution of the planned checks and controls including dynamic objective/subjective assessments Support the management of spares and consumables to keep vehicles maintained to the correct level Monitoring of attribute degradation during the test via: Analysis and comparison of the control plan results (subjective and objective) Feedback from drivers Analysis of acquired data Tracking of relevant tested components and the mileage/fatigue accumulated Support prototype build and test vehicle preparation in the Test & Verification workshop Management of vehicle strip down after end of life tests and component-level final checks. Managing test efficiency and timings: capability to minimise vehicle downtime with quick problem solving and strategic decision-making Rapid and accurate first-level diagnosis of issues reported into Itineris. Regular team reviews for progression to eCMS Supporting instrumentation requests and application to vehicle Maintain functionality of data logging hardware and channel lists. Download and store logged data Additional reporting: night letters, weekly updates, periodical updates of test plan reports and procedures Reporting results of the DVP at component level and creating final technical reports Support dedicated data acquisition activities Continuous improvement of processes to deliver enhanced customer perception of product reliability Delegation of workstreams within the testing team and across locations Gathering of lessons learned for every issue/phase/project
