The Opportunity Senior Project Engineer - SMP to join the Regional Studies Engineering team and support the Study Manager for the Stage 2B Feasibility design of the Crushing Circuit Upgrade and other studies as required. The role reports to the Engineering Manager - Regional Studies and works with other members of Engineering and Regional studies teams managing engineering deliverables in accordance with Engineering governance. You will look to deliver optimised, safe and cost-effective design solutions to meet business needs in a timely fashion through strong collaboration with stakeholders, suppliers, consultants, specialist and study teams to handover Stage 3 DFS studies in a well-planned executed state ready for operations/sustaining capital teams. The role is based in Perth with flexibility working from home arrangements and in Newmont's new office in Subiaco, Western Australia. Occasional site travel may be required to both Boddington and Tanami operations. Accountabilities Provide project engineering leadership, support and direction for the major studies allocated by ensuring engineering designs are optimised in regard to standards compliance, safety, schedule, quality, and budget requirements from Gate 1 Concept to Gate 4 execution. Monitor project engineering progress and facilitate technical meetings. Provide and coordinate expert technical reviews (drawings, documents, calculations etc), guidance and advice, acting as governance stewards to control deliverables compliance and requirements. Ensures compliance of relevant standards and specifications in consultation with the site representatives Resolution of technical queries and RFIs. Monitor project progress, risks and compliance to schedule and cost within your area of responsibility. Effective coordination of early study phases and detailed design, procurement support, material management to ensure project delivery in line with agreed execution plans. Identifies project risks and ensure controls are implemented. Agrees and validates variations and manages contract issues. Technical documentation development including tender packs, SOWs, study reports and other Newmont Major Projects deliverables. About You A relevant Engineering Degree recognized by Engineers Australia for Chartered Engineers -OR- Substantial Experience with engineering and construction with material handling plant comprising of crushers, conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, chutes, compressors, screens, pumps will be welcomed. A proven background in a similar Engineering / Capital Works environment to include engineering and/or project engineering experience in large scale complex projects, including processing and non-processing infrastructure, with a focus on crushing circuits. This includes technical documentation development and reviews, safety in design and risk management, project management systems, understanding of investment methodology and capital approval systems, QA/QC processes, engineering governance and specification development and/or reviews. Ideally minimum of 7 years' experience, however strong candidates with minimum of 5 years' experience will be considered. Strong Communication, leadership, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to positively influence others. Ability to facilitate multi discipline and cross functional teams. Sound understanding and proven experience in developing and managing schedules. Sound knowledge and understanding of Change Management processes. Experienced with MS suite. Demonstrated experience in managing or working with EPC/EPCM/ECI consultants or contractors will be well regarded. Experience within OEM manufacturing material handling equipment, material handling OEM as a service or repair function will be well regarded Knowledge of applicable statutory regulations and standards prevailing in NT and WA.
