See yourself in our team The Retail Technology team is responsible for technology leadership and capability underpinning CommBank's retail business. The goal of the Engineering Practice and Enablement is to enable Retail Technology engineers to build and deliver things easily, quickly, safely and with quality from desktop to production. We do this by looking at ways to drive simplification, change and improvement on tools, technologies, processes, and procedures across the group. As a Staff Engineer, you will be a core member of the Engineering Practice & Enablement team and report to an Engineering Manager. Staff Engineers are expected to be leaders of the team and will be driving initiatives or strategic pieces of work. You will be responsible for mentoring and up-skilling other engineers in the team and across the wider Retail Technology We're interested in hearing from people who Set up, maintain, and improve CI/CD Pipelines using latest DevSecOps best practices. Design and implement solutions to complex problems, including onboarding and migrating to new tooling as well as removing obsolete systems and code. Provide consultancy across the enterprise, with a particular focus on DevOps and CI/CD tooling. Develop and deploy high quality software solutions with comprehensive test coverage. Work within a team environment, proactively sharing knowledge, information, problems, and solutions. Drives and owns technical solutions end to end. Direct and assist teams and projects on complex troubleshooting activity. Drive continuous improvement and technical uplift initiatives for the team. Technical Skills We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We do not expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team. Essential Strong knowledge and experience in CI/CD using DevSecOps best practices. Strong experience with Source control and Continuous Integration tools and systems such as Github, TeamCity, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy. Experience and knowledge of Release and Deployment strategies, tools, and systems. An understanding of the various types of testing (eg unit, integration, non-functional) Well Developed Communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills. Desirable Experience developing web applications and APIs with .NET, Java or similar. Strong scripting skills (using PowerShell, Python, Bash or similar language) Experience working in an enterprise environment.
