Service Engineer / Field Technician — Melbourne CBD, Melbourne

Job Overview: As a Field Service Technician, you will play a pivotal role in our client's service team, gaining hands-on experience in servicing and repairing equipment to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will have the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. Key Responsibilities: Work alongside experienced technicians to manage service jobs with accuracy and efficiency. Learn to conduct service and repair work professionally and responsibly, ensuring timely completion. Assist in coordinating stock and non-stock parts activity to facilitate service job completion. Report machinery defects or potential issues identified during evaluation or servicing. Support in maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of service area and vehicle, completing weekly vehicle check sheets. Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive reports and address customer needs. Assist in maintaining correct vehicle parts stock levels and ensuring accurate warranty job details. Learn to identify business opportunities during customer visits. Support in disposal of waste materials generated during service appropriately. Assist in raising fault lists for warranty and significant failures, filling out technical reports as needed. Ensure availability and proper maintenance of tools, equipment, and forms. Report any operating difficulties with systems and equipment to the Service Supervisor promptly. Qualifications / Experience / Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Trade Strong theoretical foundation in mechanical engineering principles. Basic understanding of diagnostic skills and hands-on experience with mechanical systems. Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail. Enthusiasm to learn and grow in a dynamic work environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license.
