Design Engineer Upgrades and Rebuilds - Filtration Products — Brisbane CBD, Brisbane

Job Scope: As a Design Engineer for Filtration, you will be part of a high-motivated and impactful global Upgrades and Rebuilds (U&R) team which ensures the successful offering to global install base by implementing best practices. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in a multinational organization and in an environment involving different cultures and different challenges. Responsibilities: Lead the design of U&R solutions for filtration products where we have a large legacy installed base. The technologies include dewaxing and SOD Filters. Own and derive all the U&R engineering tasks for filtration products in collaboration with product engineering during L2O and O2O. The products include Disc Filters, Drum Filters, Horizontal Pan Filters, Horizontal Belt Filters, Automatic Filter Press, and Pneumapress according to the agreed SLAs. Provide technical support to entire U&R teams, Upgrade Packages (GSLMs), Proposals, Audits & Studies, Exchange teams, plus regional site sales and professional services teams. Review customer technical specifications. Prepare technical scope and risk assessment to assess the feasibility of the proposed U&R solution. Develop optimized processes for the design and delivery of U&R opportunities, aiming for significantly shorter turnaround times compared to capital projects. Responsible for on-time, on-budget, and quality engineering packages in U&R projects. Analyses complex design problems and conducts engineering calculations required in the development of U&R projects. Work closely with Product BL engineers to ensure that U&R engineering solutions are aligned with supported products and mission-zero objectives. Develop, adapt, and enhance the U&R engineering design and engineering change management (ECR) processes in collaboration with the BL product engineering teams. Ensure U&R workflows are followed and agreed SLAs are achieved. Capture and control FLS IP of legacy products that are no longer supported by product engineering. Ensure FLS R&D guidelines and gateways are followed (if applicable) in order to de-risk the U&R engineering new solution. Travels to job sites as required in support of GSLM and U&R projects. Generate monthly reports for the U&R engineering manager, highlighting successes, identifying bottlenecks, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs). Promote a culture of personal and team safety. Experience requirements Product knowledge of Filtration products, preferably Dorr Oliver, Eimco Drum, and SOD Filters. Ability to interpret the test report & size the equipment. Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Mining, Manufacturing, Materials Science). A professional engineering certification is an added advantage A minimum of 8 years of work experience with two years specifically on Filtration equipment. Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools like SolidWorks (Advanced level), AutoCAD, and PLM tools (Enovia). Document control experience. Good communication skills and attitude. Coordination with global teams. Independent thinking with a structured approach to tasks. Team Work and Motivation. Quality Focus and on-time delivery of documents to meet the schedule.
