Lead the change, from the frontline Based in Sydney or Melbourne, the Commissioning and Controls Engineer will undertake the commissioning of assets installed by the Asset management and Projects (AMP) team. This will include HVAC and refrigeration control, Gas upgrades, PV systems and BESS systems. This role will also assist with managing existing HVAC and refrigeration control assets. With honesty, integrity and respect, you will: Monitor of commissioned HVAC and refrigeration control assets vs set KPIs and responding to defects; Conduct monthly reporting on HVAC and refrigeration control assets' performance; Analyse HVAC systems and equipment when necessary to find inefficiencies or malfunctions and create solutions to optimize performance and increase the efficiency of operation by supporting Asset Management team; Filling commissioning checklists and forms; Filling defects forms and following up to closure; Being constantly commercially aware to maximize value to our customers and maintain a loyal customer base; Ensure the relevant Functional Description documents are in line and up to date with the actual state of the assets; Communicate accurate project status to the team lead, internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure they can pro-actively plan; Compile information and report to team lead on the project performance relative to the departments objectives; Perform the role of technical support in collaboration with the team lead during internal and external design review meetings to ensure key design approvals are achieved in line with project schedules; Plan resource requirements with the team lead to develop the project milestones; Always demonstrate respect, integrity, trust and excellence in interactions with all colleagues, customers and suppliers; Work to the company's Technical Library of External Standards and Internal Instruction Manuals; and Liaise with design engineers to design a control system that meets customer requirements. What you'll bring Here's what you'll need to thrive in this role: A can do and collaborative attitude; Excellent attention to detail; Ability to provide quality information within deadlines; Proactive interaction and empathy with other functions and projects; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, confident and capable in client facing role; Team-player and ability to work on own initiative; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Willingness to travel; A great understanding of codes and standards; Possess a good understanding of engineering principles in Control System design; Competent (and confident) in all technical aspects of BMS and HVAC control; Experience in delivering solutions to technical problems; Experience in Control System design/design analysis; Experience of undertaking technical calculations; Experience of working within a multi-skilled environment (i.e. knowledge of electrical and pneumatic components); Experienced in managing projects including working to tight timescales throughout the project life cycle; Experience in the software design of industrial automation in a manufacturing environment; Experience of working in an innovative environment and providing innovative solutions; Experience in evaluating technical requirements and providing viable solutions; Commercially aware of the effective use of resources, scope change and implications of choice; Knowledge of piping/mechanical engineering principles; Experience in piping/mechanical design; and Knowledge of PV & BESS systems desirable but not a must.
