Software Engineer - Fullstack — The Rocks, Sydney

Our role: We are currently looking for a full-stack engineer to join our team in the Sydney office. This role is weighted towards front-end technologies. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality user experiences and solving complex technical problems within the existing product framework. As a Software Engineer, you will significant input into the technical direction of the development group and is involved in product strategy decisions. The role reports to the Development Director in NZ and does not have any people responsibilities. A day in your role: Working as part of an Agile software development team. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, UX designers, and other Engineers, to gather requirements and iterate over them to deliver exceptional software solutions. Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to Objective coding standards. Ensuring timely delivery of quality software solutions to the production environments. Identifying and resolving software defects and performance bottlenecks through debugging, troubleshooting, and optimisation techniques. Other duties as reasonably requested. Your skills, experience and beyond: Experience building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade web applications. Hands-on experience in React development. Experience working with Java-based RESTful APIs. Cloud Development experience, preferably AWS. Capable of designing functional, graphical, and infrastructure building blocks for the application architecture to ensure the cohesion, stability, and scalability of the product suite. Proven history of writing high-quality code that adheres to industry standard best practices and well-known design patterns. Understanding of Relational and NoSQL databases such as MS SQL Server or Dynamo DB. Understanding of application security and a clean code enthusiast.
