About The Role The Services Software Engineer role within the Data and Enabling Technology team is responsible for contributing to our cutting-edge code bases as part of an agile cross-functional team who are empowered and accountable for shaping and evolving the foundations of our customer-facing platforms. Reporting into the Tech Lead, will be empowered to innovate, coordinate and collaborate across the entire services community at Sportsbet. You'll develop solutions in the near term to a wide variety of interesting and challenging engineering problems, as well as developing key tooling to support your peers. We are looking for somebody who is self-starting and passionate about working with our stakeholders to create effective solutions and guaranteeing the health of Sportsbet's most valuable customer platforms. The Customer Experience and Enabling Technology team is the foundation of our front-end applications (iOS app, responsive website and Android app). They are integral to ensuring we can continually give our customers a fun, fast and reliable experience. As such, being in this team means you play an important part in ensuring our platforms continually meet the current and future needs of Sportsbet with a focus on evolution, re-use and maintenance. Responsibilities Include: Platform reliability, scalability, maintenance and architecture Designing, coding, testing and packaging discrete software components Developing valuable functional outcomes in line with best practice Preparing & maintaining technical documentation (e.g. MRPs, solution design documents) Supporting non-technical stakeholders in a technical manner Key requirements: In-depth application development knowledge in the following technologies: Java 8, Kotlin, Typescript as well as accompanying frameworks Experience in engineering practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, developing highly scalable applications and application security Experience in containerization (e.g. Docker) and modern architecture patterns (e.g. microservices, reactive architecture, event-driven architecture) Commercial experience in AWS (Fargate, Lambda, RDS, Load Balancing, Cloudformation etc The Perks We work hard and play hard, so along with a competitive salary and generous performance-based bonus, we also provide you with: 25 days annual leave Genuine flexible working policy with a work from home office allowance Free breakfast and loads of event & conference tickets Access to an Employee Assistance Program and a Circle In membership Industry leading Parental Leave support program with 26 weeks paid leave for Primary Carers and no wait time.
