The key duties of the position include The Role Are you interested in being involved with aircraft, flight trials, and providing specialist aircraft engineering advice? If so, then this is the job for you. This position offers a wide variety of challenging and rewarding tasks, as well as the rare opportunity to be involved in supporting Army, Navy and Air Force flight trials through your employment at Air Warfare Engineering Squadron (AWE SQN). In this role, you will work as part of a small team of technical specialists within Systems Development Flight (SD Flight) to deliver the following engineering outputs: Engineer designs across all Australian Defence Forces platforms in the maritime, ground and aviation domains, including designs on highly specialised flight test instrumentation and in support of aircraft stores compatibility flight clearances. Provide on-site engineering and technical expertise on in-service capability to support customers. Plan and execute aerospace air and ground verification and validation activities. Provide technical advice, analysis and recommendations on aerospace systems across the broader organisation. Conduct technical investigations, report findings and provide recommendations to engineering management. About our Team AWE SQN is a Defence unit operating as a DASA Approved 21J Design Organisation, dedicated to the provision of specialist engineering designs and advice for: Aircraft Instrumentation and Specialist Aerospace Advice; Specialist Air Weapons and Stores Advice, including loading, clearance and employment of stores; Electromagnetic Compatibility and RF Analysis Advice; Aerodynamic Modelling and Weapon Danger Area Safety Assessments; and Prototyping and Mechanical / Electrical Manufacture of designs.
