Your Opportunity to Make an Impact As a Graduate Maritime & Coastal Engineer in our Maritime team at KBR, you will kickstart your career with hands-on, real-life experience across a diverse range of projects. You'll receive guidance and mentoring from seasoned professionals, helping you develop into a leading expert in your field. We work on a wide variety of projects and are looking for either a structural engineer or a civil engineer to join our Maritime & Coastal team. Our structural engineering tasks involve the design of wharves, jetties, seawalls, piers and pontoon in Australia and all over the world. Structural engineers with a passion for steel and concrete design will find this an interesting and rewarding area to work in and develop sought-after specialist skills in maritime engineering. Experience in the design of maritime structures is not required as long as you have a willingness for on-the-job learning. Our civil engineering work involves investigating coastal processes for our clients. Tasks can include developing numerical models (wave and/or hydrodynamics) to understand design storm parameters, modelling the environmental impacts of dredging works, and evaluating the effect of sea level rise on coastal communities. While experience in water or coastal modelling is desirable, it is not essential. We do require you be proactive and learn on the job. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to embark on your engineering journey with one of Australia's premier engineering teams. Based within our esteemed Brisbane Maritime Centre of Excellence (part of KBR worldwide), you'll take the helm and dive into design projects for large-scale maritime facilities across various sectors, from Defence to emerging markets like Hydrogen terminals. You will also have a chance to develop your local presence and engage with clients from around Queensland. In this role, you'll craft solutions that perfectly fit our clients' needs, actively participating in concept designs, detailed design and construction phases. Your practical experience will be complemented by regular training, providing a solid foundation to become a future leader with exceptional technical skills.
