Configuration Engineer; Expertise in Defence Configuration, Asset and/or PLM Systems; Senior Engagement for an Autonomous Professional; Canberra This high profile Australian Defence Agency requires the skills of an experienced Configuration Engineer to provide vital services across several major maritime defence programs in Canberra. This role is essential in ensuring the integrity and consistency of product information throughout the lifecycle of advanced maritime systems, contributing to Australia's national defence capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Manage configuration and baseline processes for Defence Configuration / Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. Oversee approvals workflow, ensuring all changes comply with military practices and established protocols. Maintain and control the product baseline, particularly as it applies to Australian naval warships. Collaborate with the relevant System Program Offices (SPOs) and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance. Utilise experience with Configuration, Asset and/or PLM platforms (such as AMPS, Windchill, Innovator, Teamcenter or similar). Support the integration and configuration management of new maritime systems and technologies. Ensure all documentation records are accurate and up to date. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Develop and implement configuration management plans and processes. Requirements: Defence Maritime Experience: Essential. Qualifications: Relevant tertiary engineering qualification (minimum Bachelors) in Electrical, Electronic, Communications, Mechanical, Structural, or related disciplines. Configuration, Asset and/or PLM Software Experience: e.g. AMPS, Windchill, Innovator, Teamcenter. Approvals Workflow: Experience in managing approval workflows and understanding of product baselines, especially for warships. SPO Collaboration: Proven experience working with System Program Offices (SPOs). Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of configuration management principles and practices. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse and resolve complex configuration issues. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
