About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Liaison Engineering Team Lead - Platform Installer to join our Maritime Sustainment Business based in Osborne, Adelaide, South Australia. This role is primarily responsible for Leadership and guidance of the Waterfront Production Engineering Liaison team. Centrally positioned to support the on ship Production teams throughout the Production Period of the DCE (Destroyer Capability Enhancement) Program. The Waterfront Production Support team will be the prime liaison point for issues captured in Production via Problem Resolution Reports (PIRs). This is a critical role that will lead the team to ensure that production is able to continue to deliver its delivery objectives through any design challenge. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and flexible work arrangements. Relocation may be supported for candidates residing interstate Key responsibilities include (however not limited to): Ensure that the team provides professional engineering technical and operational support that is accurate, safe, on-time and on-budget to support project objectives Lead and motivate the liaison engineering team, provide guidance and oversight to technical challenges and proposals in the support of sound production execution Measure and monitor response times for capture and rectification of production issues to ensure team is meeting production delivery needs Attend production and planning meetings, provide solutions and leadership to deliver the project objectives Review and endorse Problem Identification Reports (PIRs) and Ensure any in-production modifications are captured in company change management systems to support Scope Change Requests (SCR) Cultivate and support the development of the liaison engineering team to be technically competent whilst continually improving performance As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have: Demonstrated professional integrity, advanced level of technical knowledge, objectivity, acceptance of responsibility, maturity of judgement Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multi task simultaneously within a Production environment Demonstrated ability in successfully leading teams Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and customers. Demonstrated superior communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers at all levels Demonstrated experience in the Management of Projects (Defence OR Maritime will be highly desirable but not essential) Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, meets requirements for registration as Chartered Engineer and preferably be a member of a professional body Desire to seek and share good practice and knowledge locally to continuously improve own practices whilst improving safety on the worksite An existing Australian Defence Security Clearance or the ability to meet We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
