Senior Critical Facilities Engineering Manager - Data Centres — Melbourne, Melbourne Region

Lead all engineering operations in a hyperscale data centre. Newly created, senior level client side role in rapidly expanding operation. Senior Critical Engineering Manager Location: Melbourne Salary: $200k - $220K super and benefits MCR are seeking a first class Technical Leader to act as number one Subject Matter Expert for all technical data centre operations in Australia. Working directly for an owner / operator of large scale data centre sites, you will be tasked with developing operational excellence across the portfolio. In this newly created role, you will have a unique opportunity to implement programs and support operational maintenance teams in a quickly expanding portfolio of data centres. You'll also be supporting new phase delivery and post construction handover, ensuring that sites are operationally ready. We are seeking a vastly experienced technical leader, with extensive experience in leading operational maintenance teams in highly critical environments. Responsibilities Supervise all areas of critical operations, critical equipment and systems, ensuring site meets uptime requirement and customer SLAs Lead and develop PPM and look for opportunities for continual improvement Manage, support and mentor facilities engineering teams Responsible for contractual management of contractors, vendors and service providers Project management and point of liaison for project support, capital improvement, upgrades and major maintenance works Develop, review and implement MOPs, SOPs and best practice standards CAPEX/OPEX budget forecasting and management Negotiation and management of vendor agreements and associated SLAs Requirements Over 8 years' management experience in data centre, or other highly critical operations Experience in leading MEP maintenance teams (electrical, mechanical & BMS) Experience in managing and developing preventative maintenance programs Extensive knowledge of HV & LV electrical distribution, UPS, generators, PDUs, Chillers, CRAC units, Cooling towers and BMS Strong communicator with ability to manage both internal and external customers - ability to influence at a high level Project Management experience High level Reporting and analysis skill
