Senior AWS Cloud Engineer You are passionate about modernising the HR ecosystem through strategic and secure use of cloud infrastructure and services We are undergoing one of Australia's largest digital transformations and establishing an Engineering function within HR. We are in the middle of rolling out an updated tech strategy that has DevSecOps and cloud engineering at its centre. We are looking for a certified, passionate and hands on AWS engineer who can hit the ground running in establishing workloads in AWS through IaC and GitOps. You will be responsible for designing, deploying (via GitOps), monitoring and running AWS solutions that consist of Containers, ECS Clusters, API Gateways, Databases, Lambda & Step Functions along with EC2s that require AMI Management and performance/cost tuning. Your knowledge & experience in Observability and SRE will have you well equipped to support the delivery on our technology strategy. See yourself in our team The HR Technology function works in an Agile methodology with our HR business to plan, prioritise and deliver on high value HR & technology objectives with key results that can be experienced by all of our employees. You will work within the Cloud Engineering Chapter that is working on initiatives such as establishing decoupled HR architecture through API's, establishing ML Ops (Sagemaker) and working on our bespoke LLM chatbot. You will do this through expert knowledge of AWS infrastructure, services and orchestrations and working alongside Software/API developers and Data Engineers who are focused on innovating in the HR domain. You will work within a DevSecOps culture empowered through a tech strategy that drives engineering discipline and governance through CI/CD. We're interested in hearing from people who: Are certified AWS associate and professional Are passionate about cloud engineering and can hit the ground running with cloud infrastructure, services and workloads Are tech delivery experts able to successfully establish an engineering culture with DevSecOps delivery across our platforms and pipelines. Can create sustainable tech ecosystems through driving exceptional design, refactoring and technical debt elimination - all whilst ensuring best practices and tooling to improve governance and controls Have a demonstrable understanding of enterprise data standards, application modernisation and reference architecture Promotes open communication and creates a safe working environment where our engineers' voices are heard to achieve great outcomes for our organisation, our customers, and the community. Established new ways of working, successfully advocated for new technology approaches, with the experience to understand the architectural integration of new software solutions. Technical Skills: We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team; Experience with foundational AWS services (EC2, ECS, Cloud formation, Lambda, S3, Secrets Manager, KMS, IAM services etc.). Have a proven track record of working within high-performing engineering teams in a public cloud environment; AWS would be advantageous. Demonstrate a strong understanding of cloud resource optimisation, observability and maintenance (AMI etc) Proficient in cloud infrastructure automation (CloudFormation, Terraform, Groovy, Jenkins etc.). Ability to engage with and communicate to stakeholders. Ability to work independently and part of a team with autonomy and empowerment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
