To access the PD click here: LMH Region - Movement and Safety Engineer Position Outcomes / Accountabilities As a Movement and Safety Engineer, your key priorities include: Developing solutions, recommendations and responses to road safety and traffic management issues and influencing transport project outcomes. Providing timely and sound technical advice to the community and a range of internal and external stakeholders Applying engineering and safe system competence to investigate road crashes in accordance with DTP’s policies and procedures in the fatal crash report system. Assessing and implementing speed zoning and signing changes. Assisting other team members in the development/delivery of minor safety treatments and network improvements. Able to apply a systematic coordinated approach to evaluate the outcome and impacts of engineering activities taking a holistic understanding and appraisal of the complex multimodal transport system to efficiently move goods, services and people with safety as core. Experienced in identifying and partnering with users/stakeholders/ experts to ensure active collaboration in the design process to understand user needs, obtain ideas, insights and input. Ability to resolves issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines. Where guidelines are not available, analyses ideas available and takes action through self, or in consultation with others to resolve problems. Good understanding of issues and pressures to which the organisation has to respond; Understands the reasons behind the organisational climate and culture. Able to consistently adapts the content, style, message or tone of a presentation to suit the audience and plans how to tackle objections; Applies own ideas by linking them to others’ values, needs and goals.
