As part of the Operational Support Systems team, the Network Reliability Engineer is responsible for gaining insights into network behavior and performance through operational support tools and systems. You will work closely with other Network Engineers, developers and internal stakeholders to ensure network support systems and tools are available to meet business requirements and objectives. Responsibilities of the Network Reliability Engineer include: Design, develop and delivering operational support solutions to collect, process and analyze data from network devices. Build and maintain detailed network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures. Research and evaluate new operational support system solutions and make recommendations for their implementation. Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts and reports to Track network performance metrics. Identify fault conditions. Model network costs. Forecast capacity requirements. Optimize network performance. Produce network analytics data for input into product and automation development. Manage technical relationships with vendors. Manage internal relationships with Network Engineering, Network Operations, Service Delivery, Network Provisioning, Presales, Products, Sales and Commercial teams. Adhere to all company and workplace health and safety guidelines. About You At least 10 years' experience as a network reliability engineer or similar role(desirable) At least 10 years' experience working in a service provider environment (desirable). Excellent knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 networks (desirable). Excellent understanding of Ethernet switching technologies (desirable). Excellent understanding of IP routing and forwarding (desirable). Excellent understanding of network management systems (NMS) (essential). Excellent understanding of network management protocols including SNMP, SSH, NetFlow, SYSLOG, RADIUS, DHCP and NETCONF (essential); Experience with Python, Ansible, Perl, Go, Etc., for automation and tooling Consistent record in Generative AI expertise to develop predictive maintenance models, anomaly detection systems, and autonomous troubleshooting solutions Excellent understanding of time-series data collection and visualizations technologies including Telegraf, Grafana and Influx DB (essential). Experience with cloud networking technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) Strong documentation skills (essential). Ability to work without supervision and in a team environment (essential). Strong customer service ethic (essential). Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills (essential). Sound project management skills (essential). Key Deliverables Operational Support System solutions that collect, process and analyse data from network devices and relevant systems. Operational Support System design documentation including High Level Design (HLD), Low Level Design (LLD) and Proposed Concept of Operation (PCoO) documents. Dashboards, alerts and reports that Track network performance metrics. Identify fault conditions. Model network costs. Forecast capacity requirements. Optimise network performance. Dashboards and reports that provide input into product and automation development. Maintenance of positive technical vendor relationships through regular meetings. Maintenance of positive relationships with Network Engineering, Network Operations, Service Delivery, Network; Provisioning, Presales, Products, Sales and Commercial teams through regular meetings. Completion of company and workplace health and safety training. Qualifications CCIE or equivalent experience will be highly regarded (desirable). Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent. Additional Information Our Operational System Support team are responsible for developing, delivering and maintaining all operational support systems to drive reliability, visibility and continuity into the network. The team is responsible to enable Network Engineering and Operations teams to design, install and maintain production networks allowing those teams to achieve maximum performance and availability to our internal and external customers.
