About the role: As a Software Development Manager, you have the crucial role of leading a team of software developers, setting and upholding our software engineering processes and standards, and championing our agile ways of working. Your duties will include: Leading, managing and coaching a team of software engineers, embedding an agile culture Growing the engineering team, recruiting new engineers bring and learn new skills and capabilities into the team, aligning with Victoria Police's strong culture and values Working with iteration leads and business stakeholders in pipeline / backlog management Leading a culture of accountability and responsibility around delivery, and creating an environment where engineers can deliver consistent, high quality product Collaborating with product managers to prioritise application development aligned with product roadmaps Prioritisation of application development enhancement requirements As the successful applicant, you will have: Ideally 3 years of experience leading and managing a team of Software Engineers & other ICT professionals Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related disciplines Over 5 years' experience in the software development industry Proven ability in establishing, leading, and coaching a team of technical specialists Demonstrated experience effectively engaging and working with senior stakeholders to manage demand and backlog Advanced knowledge and thought leadership in agile ways of working, and embedding an agile culture Experience with .NET, Swift, cloud computing and mobility applications development will be highly regarded Requirements and relevant information: Australian citizenship is a must. Permanent residency is not sufficient. One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available. VPSG-6 salary range $130,673 - $174,869p.a. plus superannuation. This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands. The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.
