Platform and Application Support Engineer Hybrid working Melbourne CBD close to Flinders Street station Ongoing Your role As our Platform and Application Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of core business applications such as Oracle Cloud Fusion (OIC, ERP, EPM, and HCM) and Pega Platform and infrastructure. You'll work closely with development teams, end-users, and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvement. Your role reports to the Manager, Enterprise Platforms & Operations in the Enterprise Systems team. What you do Operate as the key owner for escalations and be responsible for delivering advanced technical support, ensuring seamless resolution to application support incidents and service requests You are accountable for the administration, maintenance, and operational excellence of VMIA's core application platforms (including but not limited to Oracle Cloud Fusion and Pega). Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures. Collaborate with the relevant teams such as incident response team and vendors to address and resolve issues promptly adhering to agreed SLA, minimizing downtime, and ensuring system reliability. Actively engage in and contribute to Production Support as well as change and release management activities of Continuous Improvement sprints and Project deployments on VMIA's core applications using the relevant tools. Responsible for proactively staying up to date on the latest advancements in Oracle Cloud Fusion and Pega technologies. Own and deliver activities in relation to audit, user access review and governance processes ensuring that our organization operates with the highest level of compliance and security. Responsible for ensuring that both our system documentation and knowledge base remain current, accurate, and readily accessible for effective knowledge sharing across the immediate and cross-functional teams. Who you work with Internal Other business stakeholders from various divisions not limited to Information Technology. Enterprise Systems team which manages our core insurance and corporate platforms. Project Delivery Team. External Third-party software vendors and service providers. About you Minimum 5 years of experience in critical enterprise platform administration & application support. Extensive hands-on experience with supporting Oracle Cloud Fusion (OIC, ERP, EPM, and HCM) and Pega Platform in a similar role is highly regarded. Minimum 5 years of experience in systems maintenance, monitoring, and administration. Minimum 3 years of experience working with industry-standard monitoring tools and best practices. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated capability to conduct research, identify and analyse complex technical application issues. Ability to manage, prioritise workloads and contribute to a high performing collaborative environment. Knowledge of insurance industry processes and practices domain highly desirable. Demonstrated capability to work autonomously and collaboratively with different teams. Proven interpersonal, stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and to develop and maintain effective relationships to achieve business objectives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Qualifications Tertiary qualifications with bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent technical qualifications. Oracle Cloud or Fusion certification highly regarded. Pega System Architect Certification (CSA) highly desirable.
