About the job Oure large Defence client is looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their project to work in a delivery site-based position and can be located anywhere across Australia. This is a key role where you will be responsible to coordinate on-site engineering functions for allocated projects to achieve time and budget objectives and provide efficient support for construction activities. Ventia is seeking a senior project engineer or experienced project engineer looking to take the next step in their career with experience in: Tower Construction, particularly structural steel including piling, structural concrete, steel reinforcement, cranage. Civil works, including earthworks, trenching, drainage, pit installation and construction of tracks. Experience in the QA/QC process developing ITP’s and managing of NCR’s Other Key Responsibilities of the role: Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, which may include Project Engineers, and/or Cost/Planning Engineers Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, program workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget. Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of structures and construction work To be successful in this key role: Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent Project Engineer and operational experience across Civil/Structural Engineering within the relevant industry Advanced commercial acumen including cost reduction and meeting budgets Understanding of the Quality Management Plan. Safety Management Plan, Environmental Management Plan and Projects Design Management Plan
