Our Burnie-based client, a leader in the industry, is seeking a Design Engineer for their light fabrications department. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Creo, seamlessly navigating the software to deliver exceptional design solutions. You'll be working in a collaborative environment, engaging with seasoned professionals on cutting-edge R&D projects. Job Duties include: APQP Quality Management: Work with engineering, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to gather requirements, help with discussions, and develop quality processes. Cost-Value Management: Make smart business decisions to ensure both the customer and the company get the best value. Data Analysis & Extraction: Review and analyse data to give recommendations and pull out necessary information to confirm results. Conceptual Design: Create and improve designs by thinking through ideas and using digital tools to make them better. Product Development: Follow proven methods to consistently deliver products on time, within budget, and at the right quality. Failure Prevention & Resolution: Focus on preventing problems, and when they happen, quickly find the cause and suggest strong solutions. About you You're a Mechanical Engineer with Mechanical Compliance Testing experience with exceptional problem solving skills and experience. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Materials Science with 3 years of engineering experience, or 7 years of progressive engineering experience. Proven experience in designing fabricated components. Strong ability to thrive in collaborative environments and effectively communicate within cross-functional teams. Experience working with suppliers to enhance design manufacturability. Skilled in leading and directing design and detailing teams to meet project goals. Proficient in solid modeling software, with a preference for Creo. Experience conducting component-level Finite Element Analysis (FEA), preferably using Creo Simulate. Familiarity with working on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes. Practical, hands-on experience with machinery, heavy equipment, manufacturing processes, and welding. Desirable Skills: Experience with Creo Parametric 3D modelling. This is a casual role, requiring you to work 38 hours per week, with additional overtime as needed to meet deadlines. The working hours are from 7 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Friday. You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia. This opportunity is based in Burnie, so you should either reside in Burnie or be willing to relocate.
