Project Engineer - Mechanical Design | 3 Month Contract | Up to $83.63 p/h incl. super $65 - $75 p/h super 3 month contract Rooty Hill/Blacktown About the Role In this role, you will be at the forefront of creating and interpreting detailed engineering drawings, design specifications, and technical documentation. Your work will play a critical role in ensuring that complex technical information is communicated clearly, accurately, and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and will be capable of assessing technical drawings to identify and mitigate potential risks. Key Responsibilities Technical Design : Create, modify, and review detailed mechanical drawings and designs using CAD software. Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to develop design solutions that meet project specifications and objectives. Technical Writing : Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, operating instructions, maintenance guides, and safety protocols. Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documents. Ensure all technical content is accurate, up-to-date, and consistent with the latest project developments. Risk Assessment : Conduct thorough reviews of technical drawings and designs to identify potential risks. Perform technical risk assessments to evaluate the safety, reliability, and performance of mechanical systems and components. Recommend design modifications or mitigation strategies to address identified risks. Document and report on risk assessment findings to relevant stakeholders. Collaboration & Communication : Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and quality assurance personnel, to ensure alignment on technical requirements and documentation standards. Participate in design reviews, providing feedback and suggestions based on risk assessment and technical analysis. Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices in mechanical design and technical writing. Proactively seek opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of technical documentation and risk assessment processes. About You Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field. Proficiency in designsoftware (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other design tools. Strong technical writing skills with experience in creating technical documentation. Experience in conducting technical risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies. Ability to interpret and analyse complex technical drawings and designs. Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to mechanical design. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Previous experience in a similar role within the engineering or manufacturing industry. Knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes. Experience with project management tools and techniques.
