Job Description Are you a backend engineer ready to take on new challenges? Are you interested in working on ground-breaking AI/ML technology? This is an early stage start up looking for their first technical hire here in Sydney (CBD Location - Flexi/Hybrid 2/3 Days WFO & 2/3 Days WFH). You will report directly into the Founder to support optimising the system's performance, writing code and maintain cutting-edge technical documentation. This role will give you huge exposure to revolutionising cybersecurity technology through the power of AI and ML to which the Founder has over 25 years experience spanning roles in Data Engineering, Analytics/AI/ML and Risk Management. As the first engineer in the team, you'll work across everything from the code base to the architecture, design, and development of their AI/ML-driven customer service platform. Once in this role, you will get the opportunity to support building a team and step up into a lead role within the next 12 months. What's Needed: Experience analysing systems, identify bottlenecks, and proposing solutions. Ensuring the architecture adheres to best practices and regulations. Ability to create and maintain comprehensive system designs and API specs. Qualifications: Highly Proficient in Python, Java, Scala or .Net (We use Python so this is a preference) Keen interest in AI/ML-driven applications. Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. Solid understanding of microservices, containerisation, and API design. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Desired Skills: If you have knowledge of NLP, chatbot development, and voice recognition would be a huge plus Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and secure coding practices.
