Description Your new role We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic Data Engineer to join our highly regarded Data and Analytics function. Reporting to the Data and Analytics Solution Lead, you will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of analysis, design, build, test & deployment activities within the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence spaces at CSC. You will work closely with stakeholders (our customers / users), the Product Owner and other team members to conceive, design and deliver value through reporting & analytics. Key Responsibilities: Work with users and the delivery team (Solution Designer, Business Analyst, etc.) to deliver high quality data and information products, through: The translation of data and reporting requirements into solutions that meet those needs The creation of ETL jobs & artefacts to produce data assets to support Business Intelligence and Data Science objectives An ability to validate and ensure the quality of your work While also focusing on continuous improvement, mainly through developing / refining standards & patterns Skills And Experiences What you need to excel CSC’s Core Competencies Delivering results and meeting customer expectations Working with People Adapting and Responding to Change Deciding and Initiating Action Analysing Commercial and Strategic Thinking In addition to these, you will possess below technical expertise and experience: Strong ability to working with the Business Analyst to turn reporting requirements and design specifications into data assets / data products Ability to understand / appreciate business needs Ability to collaborate closely with others in the team High demonstrable degree of expertise in SQL Strong ability to undertake upstream systems analysis (chiefly using SQL) With a verity of database technology, including Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, etc. Ability to interpret & challenge various DW modelling methods (e.g. Data Vault & dimensional data modelling) Experienced in various Data Engineering practices (ideally including DevOps / CI-CD, advanced testing practices, etc.) Highly Desirable - experience using a variety of technologies in an AWS-based data analytics context; Bitbucket, Jenkins, MWAA, ECS, S3, Redshift, Athena, Python, etc. Highly Desirable - Broader knowledge of related technologies; such as BI platforms, etc. Highly Desirable - Experience with agile ways of working What will you get in return?
