About the Role: Do you have experience and knowledge of the National Electricity Market, working in an operation or shift environment and looking to make an impact in the energy sector? Origin Energy is seeking Operations Engineers to join our high-performance Monitoring and Support Centre team. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing our peaking gas turbines and pumped hydro portfolio, ensuring optimised production and supporting our Wholesale & Trading (W&T) operations. You will be part of a dynamic team that provides 24/7 monitoring, dispatch and support of our generation assets, contributing to the reliable and efficient operation of our energy fleet. Key responsibilities: Manage the dispatch and operation of gas turbines and pumped hydro assets to optimise production and support Wholesale & Trading (W&T) requirements. Collaborate closely with W&T and other internal teams to deliver real-time data and analytics for informed decision-making. Participate in a 12-hour shift roster, including night and weekend shifts, to ensure continuous monitoring and operation of generation assets. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of plant performance through detailed data analysis, predictive diagnostics, and strategic operational enhancements. Provide technical support and troubleshooting to enhance the reliability and efficiency of energy assets. Engage with external stakeholders, including AEMO, TNSPs, and gas providers, to maintain smooth operations and adherence to industry standards. What you will bring: A minimum of 3 years of experience in operations, engineering or a shift environment, particularly in gas turbine operations. Strong proficiency in SCADA and PI systems, with demonstrated experience in real-time data analysis and technical troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders. A proactive, systematic approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure. A strong commitment to safety, integrity, and environmental stewardship, in line with Origin’s core values.
