A leading provider of telematics and tracking systems is looking for a talented embedded software engineer to join their engineering team in Melbourne. The company offer the stability of a major corporation combined with the innovative spirit of a startup. You'll be part of a small, close-knit team where your contributions will make a real impact. The Role: Evolve and optimise existing embedded Linux software for mobile communication devices used by a large customer base. Design and develop new software and products. Use modern software techniques to interact with onboard devices, external systems, and the cloud. Work with commercial products taking software components through conception, design, development, deployment and optimisation. Required Skillset: Embedded software application development using C / C++. Experienced in Linux (image construction, bootloaders, and u-boot) Good understanding of wireless communication technologies (3/4/5G, WiFi, Bluetooth). Familiarity with IoT protocols (MQTT, AMQP, COAP). Experience with AWS development APIs, tools, and services. Experience with interfacing to serial ports, USB, SPI, I2C, CAN. Familiarity with the Atlassian Suite, Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Melbourne.
