About the role: Join Origin Energy as a Senior Project Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in delivering our major capital projects, including both growth and stay-in-business initiatives. As a key leader in our project team, you will manage significant business-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all objectives are met within the desired timeframes and budgets. This role primarily involves overseeing a critical project in Brisbane, requiring strong leadership and a focus on stakeholder engagement. In this position, you will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and engineering design through construction and commissioning to final handover to operations. You will collaborate closely with technical experts, consultants, external authorities and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with our business goals. Key responsibilities: Lead a portfolio of projects through Planning / Scheduling and tracking of activities against available resources and setting priorities for the team based on Business objectives. Directly responsible for contract, capital and resource management and materials procurement and execution strategy and support Manage stakeholders in the development of benefit analysis, scope development, engineering /execution support and ensure project close out documents are completed. Work directly with the Operations, Engineers (both internal and external to Origin), Cost and Finance, Contracts governance and other key stakeholders to achieve the teams HSE, Production, Reliability and Cost improvement objectives. Clearly report on project status and both on a cost/time to deliver and value performance as well as escalating project risks/issues. Providing the Information to monthly capital review meeting and reporting of applicable projects status. What you will bring: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering with at least 7 years of relevant industry experience Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, with a focus on achieving the right outcomes for the business Strong analytical skills, applying engineering knowledge to assess, document, and evaluate solutions Expertise in change management and its implementation across diverse business environments Excellent leadership abilities, demonstrated through successful management of large, complex projects Skilled in managing technical consultants and contractors, ensuring alignment with business objectives Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with experience consulting across multidisciplinary teams A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with a high level of initiative, attention to detail, and a "can-do" attitude Project Management certification (e.g., PMI PMP) and experience in the oil & gas industry are highly desirable So, why join us?
