Description Sedgman has an opportunity for a Controls Engineer with hands-on experience in plant maintenance and monitoring of equipment. This also involves the identification of potential plant improvements, and implementation of plant modifications as required, and to provide technical support to site personnel. This is a Brisbane based role. We are looking for someone with experience on mine sites and PLC (Rockwell) & CitectSCADA knowledge & skills to join our team in Brisbane. Responsibilities: Provide daily technical support assistance as required by site (including site visits, relief work, etc.) Carry out regular plant inspections and audits Implement & Commission small projects Perform studies into operational site improvements and modifications Identify design-out maintenance opportunities to improve plant performance, maintenance costs, and/or maintenance effort. Participate in economic justifications for plant modification, component replacement, and maintenance Liaising with internal and external clients, other discipline professionals, and stakeholders within the industry to ensure the timely, accurate and cost effective delivery of projects through effective maintenance. What are we looking for? Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or Controls) desirable Diploma or AD with Electrical Trade background may be considered Essential skills, knowledge and experience: 2-3 years’ experience in an operational, or design engineering capacity. PLC (Rockwell) & CitectSCADA knowledge & skills Excellent written & verbal communication skills Ability to interpret Electrical & Controls drawings & engineering documents (PID’s, SLD’s, Schematics, Sequence & Control Function Diagrams) Electrical & Control System troubleshooting & fault-finding abilities Ability to work safely and effectively unsupervised. Ability to effectively self-manage time and activities. Desired skills, knowledge and experience: Experience in project management Skills in MS Office suite, MS Access, MS project, PLC & SCADA Self-motivated.
