Join us in creating a cleaner tomorrow, today. Summary: Powin seeks a Sustaining Engineer, Sr with strong programming, networking, and engineering skills and a passion for clean energy. The Sustaining Engineering team at Powin leads technical efforts to support operating batteries in the field. We collaborate closely with our Analytics, Field Service, Research and Development (R&D), and Engineering groups on projects related to software, hardware, and engineering as it relates to the control, operations, and maintenance of energy storage systems for Powin and our Customers. Job Details: Lead the assessment of field issues and initial Root Cause Analyses (RCAs): Software, Control, Network and Hardware issues Analyze events and provide guidance and support for the Software (SW) and Hardware (HW) division to develop fixes Support QA organization in testing and validation of solutions Support the deployment and testing of improvement and fixes to the field Work independently to investigate issues and devise solutions, including some customer contact. Provide high level support to answer more complex field, operational, and customer questions Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience 5 or more years of technical experience with energy storage or PV generation systems, power electronics, SCADA. Strong understanding of programming languages (Java required; Python and Shell a strong plus) Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) is required. Experience with device protocols (Modbus/TCP, Modbus/RTU, DNP3, SCADA, Sunspec) is a very strong plus Detail oriented and organized Ability to learn new frameworks, new environments, and new technologies Creative problem-solving skills Able to lead and mentor junior colleague Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across levels and functions Proficient in Microsoft office programs Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support international teams Limited travel requirement Powin is not accepting resumes from unsolicited headhunters or agencies at this time.
