Our client, a global food manufacturing company has an exciting opportunity for an Automation Engineer to join their team at the Sunshine Coast factory. Responsibilities: As an Automation Engineer, you will design, develop, test, and implement integrated electrical control systems, covering all stages from design, URS, Functional Design, CAPEX submission, procurement, commissioning, and lifecycle support. You will provide technical support, training, and direction in PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, instrumentation selection and calibration, process control, and troubleshooting. Your role will involve participating in Capital Investment projects, ensuring technical solutions meet the expected quality standards, timelines, and budgets. You will be responsible for preparing user and technical specifications, coordinating the requirements of main users such as production and quality teams, following up on solution development, pre-testing, implementation, and training operators and maintenance crews. A deep understanding of the technical details of E&A (Electrical & Automation) solutions in all projects is essential. Ensuring all E&A installations comply with safety, health, environmental, product safety, and quality standards is a key part of the role, as is maintaining up-to-date and practical E&A documentation. You will also ensure compliance with E&A-related legislation, such as electrical and calibration requirements. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in the continuous improvement of the factory processes by mastering process and product characteristics, striving to improve quality, safety, and efficiency while safeguarding technological know-how and competitive advantage. Desired Qualifications: We are looking for a collaborative team player with strong leadership skills, a drive for delivering quality outcomes efficiently, and a passion for continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate will have: - A Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics - A minimum of 3 years in a complex electrical and automation leadership role, preferably within a food manufacturing environment - Experience in leading technical teams and contractors - Experience in the commissioning of technical equipment and/or production lines - The ability to self-manage by following defined KPIs/Objectives and proactively tracking them - Exposure to Preventive Maintenance Planning, and/or maintenance execution is desired, but not required Additional Information: Applicants will be required to undergo pre-employment checks prior to appointment to this role.
