Service Engineer Company: Our client is an SME pharmaceutical manufacturer with operations in Melbourne VIC and plans to open up locations across Asia Pac. Due to increasing demand, we are looking to hire a Service Engineer to take over the maintenance and machine improvements from the CTO, who will be focussing on more operation and growth responsibilities. Job Responsibilities: Machine Modification and Improvement: Design, implement, and oversee modifications to manufacturing equipment to enhance performance and reliability. Maintenance and Repair: Perform regular maintenance and repair of pneumatic motors and injectors, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of equipment modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities. Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies; specifically working around machines, LOTO, and others. Collaboration: Communication with stakeholders across Asia and particularly China. Fluency in Mandarin is a MUST. Work closely with production teams to understand equipment needs and provide technical support. Provide detailed reports to management as required. Job requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics or/ Electrician Trade Certificate plus Electrical Engineering Certificate Strong mechanical comprehension skills 5 years of experience working with manufacturing machines and modification of components like pneumatics, hydraulics, and motors, modifying ducts/tube connections in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or FMCG industry. Good sense of safety, analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in diagnostics and troubleshooting equipment, good communication, and ability to work independently. Very rare need to travel to China to communicate with equipment makers to make modifications to equipment as part of the team, or independently with time. Fluency in Mandarin is A MUST for effectively communicating with stakeholders in China.
