We aim to recruit a diverse range of people with a diverse range of talents to help us achieve our goals The role The Transmission Lines Design Engineer is responsible for designing, analysing, and optimising transmission line systems to ensure efficient energy transfer and reliability. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, utilising PLS CADD, and adhering to industry standards and regulations to deliver high-quality transmission line designs. Conduct detailed feasibility studies and site surveys to assess project requirements and constraints. Develop conceptual and detailed designs for transmission line systems, including towers, conductors, insulators, and foundations. Perform structural and electrical analyses using software tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and MATLAB to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. Optimise transmission line designs to minimise environmental impact, cost, and construction time while maximising efficiency and reliability. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, procurement specialists, and construction teams, to ensure seamless project execution. Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements to ensure design compliance. Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases, addressing any design-related issues and facilitating smooth project completion. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in transmission line design and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organisation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred. Proven experience 10 years in transmission line design, preferably in the utility or consulting industry. Professional Engineer (PE) licence or eligibility for licensure is desirable. Skills Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform structural and electrical calculations and analyses. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including ANSI, IEEE, and NESC. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines. Proficiency in software tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MATLAB, and AutoCAD.
