This is a newly created role with opportunity to carve out the technical direction of the end-to-end software delivery practice within ING, leading the efforts to having an industry level best practices across all Tribes within ING Australia. This position is responsible for defining, building, and maintaining an industry best practices in the bank. It includes underlying standards, polices and processes required for the bank to have a best of breed Software Engineering and Quality Assurance practice. You’ll be an enabler of a culture and awareness as to how best practice in both Software Engineering and Quality Assurance spans requirements, system Development/Engineering and quality domains and will work with peers and the relevant chapter leads to roll out a program of improvements across those domains that result in improved end-to-end quality outcomes. What you’ll do … Interpret Architecture designs to help design effective solutions. Technical problem-solving across projects, teams, and functions: Working with POs, CJEs, engineers, testers, chapter leads and DevOps specialists as well as other domains. Develop and communicate complex ideas and solutions, technical engineering advice and recommendations to IT and business leadership teams. Coach and quality control of application implementations including code, integrations, and defect resolution in a variety of technologies. Plan and conduct workshops to define technical requirements based on business needs. Assist in handling and escalating critical incidents and problems, using judgement to resolve them within SLAs. Provide thought leadership on new technologies that can deliver increased customer value. What we’re looking for… Expert knowledge and experience of the full lifecycle of SDLC. Demonstrated experience and highly proficient of tools across full software delivery lifecycle, e.g., JAVA, source control, CI, quality assurance tools, mocking, work tracking, defect management, Continuous Delivery / DevOps at scale. Strong knowledge of quality assurance in delivery for significant software applications / projects Agile in large organisations. End to end software quality assurance experience and able to work along the full lifecycle of software engineering from idea to working production. What’s in it for you?
