Join our team of experts in engineering, manufacturing and operations, sales, supply chain, environmental health and safety, human resources and more The Fleet Engineer rotation program is a 3-year program. The first year will be spent in training focused on a broad exposure to Solar’s products and the Customer Service organization. After the 14 months of training, the candidate will spend 2 additional years in our district office as a Fleet Engineer. At this time, the selected candidate will be required to travel. The foundational training provided will be a combination of classroom and online training, significant hands-on training, structured on the job training in the field, and mentored controls system training at various Solar locations covering: Gas Turbine Package Familiarization training Control Systems training / Principles & Applications of Control Systems Borescope of Turbine Engines Power Generation and Gas Compression principles Routine Maintenance and Troubleshooting While in Melbourne and the successful candidate will receive: On-line web-based training and classroom training. Commissioning and maintenance field assignments at customer sites. Controls engineering assignment. Exposure to the Customer Service Response Center and QHSE training. Engine Overhaul, engine teardown inspections, build and test and field assignments at customer sites. Candidate will be trained on all aspects of Machinery. Fleet Management Services including and the support of a Solar Fleet Manager in a District office Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded. This is a hands-on position which requires travel and overtime, customer-interface, and some possible offshore assignments. This position is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to Fleet Managers in maintaining and managing machinery management Agreements between Solar and customers. The Engineer facilitates equipment failure investigations and root cause determination with appropriate groups; compiles and submits engineering reports and analysis to fleet managers for review; supports fleet manager with alert management, preventative action reports, value tracking, and compilation of monthly reports and submission to customers. He/She/They will participate in and support onsite condition assessments. Fleet engineer will also support fleet manager with service bulletin compliance and implementation of corrective actions as well as follow up on pending issues defined within issue tracker. Fleet engineer must be well versed in both Solar and customer Health Safety Security and Environment management systems. Ensure compliance to the Health Safety Security and Environment requirements, best practices and provide overviews to Field Service Representatives and other personnel who will be visiting customer site. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering Must be able and willing to travel and work overtime. High integrity and a high level of self-confidence. Ability to communicate in a professional manner. 0-2 years related experience Preferred Qualifications: Able to work in a range of environments. High integrity and a high level of self-confidence. Ability to handle work in a high-pressure environment. Communicate in a professional manner. Previous Internship or related work experience with customer facing activities strongly preferred.
