About this role If you have a passion for security and a drive to make a real impact, this role is for you. As a Security Engineer, you'll be a crucial part of our team, safeguarding our organisation and customers from ever-evolving threats. Leveraging your strong software engineering or DevOps background, you'll identify and mitigate security risks, design and implement robust security solutions, and work collaboratively with the engineering team to elevate our overall security posture. On a day to day you will: Proactively identify and mitigate security risks to protect the organisation and its customers Participate in incident response during business hours Advise, design and implement robust security solutions, leveraging software engineering or DevOps expertise Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance the overall security posture of the company May occasionally assist with CorpSec/SecOps tasks, enhancing internal IT and governance practices A bit about you You’re a security enthusiast, probably attended hacker cons, meetups or participate in online cybersecurity-related communities Ideally you'll have a background in software engineering You're diligent, a great written communicator, and are autonomous You've got a good eye for business risk, and you're comfortable with raising the alarm when you see something Nice to haves, but not must-haves: Familiarity with threat modelling frameworks, like STRIDE Implemented or worked with automated tooling to catch bugs during development Experience securing Go or Java services and APIs At Stake, we value hustle over honours degrees, so we’re more interested in you than your resume.
