Rail Systems Australia has a growing portfolio of rail projects underway and in the pipeline in all major centres across Australia. To facilitate this growth, we are looking to employ the services of a Principal Telecommunications Engineer in our Brisbane office. About the role The role of Principal Telecommunications Engineer is to ensure that the company have sufficient capable and competent engineering and technical resources to deliver Communications and Operational Technology projects as well as the technology, processes and procedures to support these. Principal Accountabilities & Activities include but are not limited to: Ensuring sufficient capable and competent Communications, OT engineering, design and technical resources are available to support RSA projects including: Lead the multi-disciplined design team across multiple projects Review and approve designs to legislated, industry and client specifications Input into resource-loaded project programs to determine current and future engineering resourcing requirements Review and maintain the Competency Management System for relevance Assessing individuals engineering competence Mentoring all engineering resources Support training of engineering resources Reviewing performance Maintain good relationships with senior client representatives Taking managerial responsibility for the quality and engineering assurance Directing the production and continual support of standards and procedures To develop and maintain project specific Engineering Management plans Ensure full compliance of the RSA engineering processes with ISO9001:2008 and other standards as appropriate Support the Operations Manager and the senior management team Provide input to relevant bids and tenders that are being undertaken by the bid team Qualifications: A minimum of 12 years relevant design and management experience required Experience with railway communications and OT systems Proficiency in planning and managing teams of engineers Eligible to become a Chartered Engineer What we offer: Inclusive, high performing environment Work on Queensland’s premier transport projects Flexible working arrangements Ongoing training for career progression A competitive remuneration package How to apply: If you have the qualities and experience highlighted above to fulfil this role, we encourage you to register your interest by clicking 'Apply Now' on this Ad.
