The Chapter Lead –Engineering is a key role in the Assisted Channels organisation. This role reports into the IT Area Lead and is responsible for balancing continuous delivery of services to benefit customers, with leading team to meet both their individual goals, career goals, organization's goals. As a leader in the software engineering community, you will play a key role in the continual advancement of our engineering practices and consider the applicability of industry trends, bringing the best of the global engineering practices to ING. You will actively work with other Chapter Leads to provide alignment across the organization where it’s beneficial, but recognize areas of specialization or differentiation, where tailored solutions are required. What you’ll do Leading a chapter & set the standards for the Chapter, and take responsibility for developing, innovating, and safeguarding knowledge within the Assisted Channels domains. Ability to operate and provide technical leadership in significant ambiguity. Be active across the full software development lifecycle, from ideation to working product. Contribute to the implementation of the IT strategy of the domain, while translating IT strategy in terms of the Chapter. Ensuring non-functional requirements carry the same, or greater, weight as functional requirements. What we’re looking for 8 years' technical leadership experience in delivery for significant software applications / project Demonstrated experience of enabling continuous delivery in complex environments, spanning applications deployed to cloud and on premises, legacy and emerging technology, with a risk and security-centric mindset. Expert level Full-Stack development, e.g. database, services and user interface with Core Java EE, SQL, MySQL, Node.JS, Kafka Proficient communication skills that ensure ability to influence and educate non-technical staff. Deep understanding of system reliability, resiliency, scalability, and fault tolerance/ recovery as well as cloud technologies and automation.
