Principal Engineer - Distributed Systems Company Overview Reporting to: VP of Engineering/CTO Blockchain Company 50 Employee Hybrid Working arrangement - 1 day a week in office. Sydney CBD Overview: You will be guiding and supporting engineering tasks, focusing on distributed systems, cryptography, security, economics, and governance, while welcoming diverse backgrounds and perspectives in block-chain and Web3. Responsibilities: Responsible for designing secure distributed system solutions and enhances the distributed systems and cryptography skills of the engineering teams. Working closely with the VP of Engineering to define and implement precise solutions, ensuring security and efficiency. The role involves providing expertise in distributed systems and cryptography, developing and evaluating proof-of-concept protocols, and pursuing applied research relevant to the company. Support technical research, guides less experienced staff, and contributes to design, documentation, and publications. Requirements: Proven experience in distributed systems, operating systems, networking, and/or cryptography protocols. Skilled in designing distributed systems and implementing them effectively. Capable of understanding and applying distributed systems and security research literature. Experienced in programming for operating systems, database systems, or network systems. Passionate about decentralisation and its impact on technology. Must have full working rights in Australia.
