GHD is seeking a Brisbane-based Lead Instrumentation & Control Engineer to provide technical and project delivery leadership to our Instrumentation & Control Team. The role will support our Plant & Process Business Group in servicing our clients in the traditional Oil & Gas and broader Energy & Resources sectors, as well as De-Carbonizing, Future Energy and Energy Transition endeavors. This senior technical role leads innovative solutions and delivers high quality projects for our diverse client base and builds and strengthens commercial awareness whilst taking responsibility for coaching and technically developing the team. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Defining the Instrumentation & Control scope of projects, designing innovative technical solutions, and leading project / design teams to deliver those solutions. Acting as Project Manager for dedicated Instrumentation & Control projects, responsible for project documentation (scope of work etc.) and managing client interactions. Planning, leading and coordinating resources on projects and ensuring project technical & commercial outcomes and client expectations are met. Promoting a culture of safety within the team and throughout the project lifecycle. Identifying major short and long-term project opportunities and coordinating campaigns to win these projects on a sustainable basis. What you will bring to the team: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related field with RPEQ and CPEng registrations. Extensive Instrumentation & Control engineering design expertise in the Oil & Gas and Energy & Resources sectors, preferably with exposure to both Operator and engineering consultancy environments. Experience in the technical leadership, delivery and management of Instrumentation & Control engineering projects through the whole design lifecycle from concept to detailed design. TÜV Rheinland certified Functional Safety Engineer (FSEng), with extensive knowledge of the IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards and the Functional Safety Lifecyle, as well as development of the relevant functional safety documentation. Experience in the specification and design of Safety Instrumented Systems, Fire & Gas Detection and Emergency Shutdown Systems. Experience in EEHA engineering design, Certification / competency training in Hazardous Area Classification and Design is desirable. A desire to mentor and support our junior engineers. Interested?
