PRA are looking for a Security Engineer to work for one of Melbourne's most well respected Not-for-profit companies. This is a very exciting opportunity for a Security Engineer to join a company that is responsible for creating and promoting research-based knowledge, products and services to improve learning for individuals Australia wide. This role offers a great culture and work environment, plus the opportunity to continue to learn and progress your career further in security As a Security Engineer (Level 1) you will report to the IT Security Manager and be responsible for providing expertise in a variety of operational and compliance-based security tasks. Key Skills Required Ideally 2 years of experience under your belt already as a security engineer Strong understanding of security processes & amp; practices. Knowledge of terminology and concepts used in the security domain. Scripting language experience. Understanding of web technology protocols such as HTTP and TLS. Knowledge of the typical security controls applied to database, webserver and network technologies. Understanding of the tools used to verify the application of security controls to a specific system. Understand the ethical and authorized usage of these tools. Familiarity with UML and network diagrams. Strong understanding of development project lifecycles and methodologies Familiar with operating systems such as Linux, Windows and MacOS. Familiar with webserver and database technologies. Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical clients. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong professional attitude combined with a “can do” approach. A strong commitment to quality. Willingness to learn and remain abreast of the latest information regarding new technologies. Familiarity with Windows Defender and Splunk is desirable MUST BE MELBOURNE BASED Salary: $90K base with 17.5% super Hybrid Model : Flexible - mostly remote, some office days in CBD on a need o basis Keen?
