Canberra, Surry Hills, Darwin, Brisbane, Adelaide, Geelong or Richmond 6 12 month Federal Government contract - flexible/2 days WFH Ability to obtain Baseline security clearance required Our client, a large Federal Government department who provide support for hundreds of thousands of Australians impacted by permanent disability, are seeking multiple Data Engineers to join their team. Overview: The Data and Analytics Branch delivers systems and services that help protect and improve the integrity of the agency. The branch develops and implements strategies to reduce fraud and fulfil the goals of the agency, to become more responsive, supportive and sustainable, and put people with disability back at the centre. Key duties/skills include: Provide technical leadership to the project delivery team through design reviews, advising on implementation best practices, defining and refining release process and technical workshops; Review and refine the data delivery framework in order to enhance integration of new sources, performance of existing data delivery and rapid development of new subject areas; Own the technical implementation of new data from analysis to delivery (designing and delivering data dictionary, defining the release steps, defining best practices of data modelling and review steps); Facilitate continuous improvement measures in delivery principles, coding standards, documentation and provide training sessions to team. Criteria: Demonstrated experience in developing, auditing and reviewing code in 2 out of the 5 following Data Warehouses listed: MS SQL / Teradata /Snowflake / Redshift / Databricks ; High level of competency in Programming, including knowledge of supplementary programming languages such as Python, SAS, R or Java ; Strong expertise with SQL , including experience with reverse-engineering end user SQL code ; Ability to understand DevOps process and can use DevOps tools in accordance with the process.
