Seeking an junior Electronics Engineer who has knowledge on testing & interest in product development with experience working with 240V mains power Our Client Our client is recognised as world leaders in their products and has built a well-deserved reputation in Australia for over 80 years With 2 manufacturing sites, Melbourne and Vietnam, approximately 80% of products sold are manufactured in these sites with the majority of the balance being manufactured in other company owned sites. The role is based in Rydalmere, Sydney, where the products from all the manufacturing sites are tested an developed. The Job We are searching for a junior engineer with some testing experience and interest in electronics product development who has experience with 240V mains power. This role will begin with testing and further develop into a product development engineer role. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate engineer to contribute to product design and testing. Responsibilities Definition of product design including relevant drawings specifications and Bill of Materials Validate designs through prototyping, testing, recording & assessment of results Estimate and define validation steps within the validation function of the project Ensure project milestones are met Ensure that product designs comply with all relevant standards and approval requirements Monitor and control life test experiments over life of the product Provide design engineering support in order to reduce production costs and to improve reliability, quality and performance Establish testing methods and Test platforms to carry out testing accordingly Ensure that test platforms, instruments and equipment are available to enable the execution of laboratory testing Carry out comparative testing on competitor’s products Prepare reports and provide recommendations for actions according to time schedules and constraints of each project, for senior management review Accountabilities Clear communication and ability to report to a committee on testing performed An ability to convey and discuss concepts and issues detected or predicted Persuade team members of your opinion, but also be able to take direction when you do not agree Work in a group as part of a project test, report into the project team on a weekly basis Take direction from manager and senior team members Ensure duties are performed in a safe manner You will be responsible for personal compliance with all company policies and procedures to control OHS, environmental and other risks and to ensure compliance with business and legal requirements Actively participating in the implementation of policies, procedures and other elements of Quality, OHS and Environmental Management Systems Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Degree in Mechatronics, Electronics or Electrical Engineering At least 1 to 2 years in the testing of electronic devices or design of appliances or related equipment Experience in solid modelling, SAP, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project would be beneficial Excellent, clear, concise communication skills are imperative Experience in writing work instructions Experience with the use of mechanical equipment to make test jigs Experience with electrical/electronic design Experience with Inventor CAD design package (or equivalent) Proven experience working with Australian Standards as a regulatory framework What Next?
