The Role We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with a background in systems engineering to manage and support our cloud infrastructure and critical business applications. This new role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and support of our cloud environment, focusing on best practices, governance, security, and data resiliency. You'll be responsible for operational support, acting as an escalation point for the service desk, and addressing infrastructure issues. You will provide support for technologies from vendors like Microsoft and Fortinet, as well as various server and vitalisation platforms. You'll manage Microsoft Azure and other cloud technologies, participate in projects, and contribute to strategic planning and optimisation. Responsibilities Manage and configure cloud infrastructure services, including the design, build, and deployment of environments and workloads; Facilitate cloud resource provisioning, virtual network setup, and secrets management using best practices and governance standards; Support industry-standard applications and in-house platforms; Engage in business continuity practices and support development and test environments; Handle data protection through backup and restoration, ensuring compliance with RTO/RPO; Evaluate on-premises resources for cloud migration and execute the transition; Plan optimisations for core infrastructure improvement; Support and troubleshoot cloud resources for availability, resiliency, and cost efficiency; and Implement updates and changes proactively while maintaining functionality and adhering to security best practices.
