As a Linux Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, automation, and implementation of secure Linux-based systems for enterprise environments. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects and deliver innovative solutions with a strong emphasis on security and automation. Role Responsibilities: Collaborate with a small, high-performing team to automate the delivery of Linux-based operating systems, applications, and configurations . Implement cybersecurity patches for both applications and operating systems based on urgency and relevance. Develop a Red Hat Linux SOE with applicable ACSC hardening for deployment in virtualised VMWare-based environments . Work with other disciplines to ensure services and applications are deployed in line with best practices. Develop detailed design and operational documentation to support delivery. Assist in the multi-phase project delivery planning . Essential Experience: Expertise in automating Linux OS and application delivery . Proficient in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) . Knowledge of automation tools like Terraform and Ansible . Experience deploying and managing enterprise-scale Linux technologies . Strong understanding of Linux system management tools and patch management. Experience supporting Linux-based software, systems, and databases . Familiarity with risk management processes related to security patching. Knowledge of application deployment, change, and release management processes. Working knowledge of DevSecOps principles and experience with CI/CD methodologies . Desirable Experience: Networking fundamentals . Experience with VMWare products and containerised systems . Familiarity with Essential 8 and ISM compliance. Application packaging and deployment techniques . Experience managing cloud environments like AWS. Exposure to DevSecOps models and promoting code using CI/CD practices. Desirable Qualities: Ability to work independently and within a multi-discipline team . Proven ability to mentor and influence team members. Demonstrated experience in meeting project schedules and delivering client-focused outcomes . Strong communication and reporting skills . A passion for learning new technologies and improving technical knowledge. A security-first mindset . Work Environment: Location: Canberra Office Must hold NV1 clearance and be willing to undergo Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) clearance before commencement.
