Responsibilities Downer Rail & Transit Systems (RTS) is a leading provider of Rail and Transport asset management services across Australia. We believe in nurturing talent and providing aspiring mechanical engineers with hands-on experience to kickstart their career. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking highly motivated and dedicated 3rd or 4th year Engineering students enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering Degree course to join our team as an Engineering Cadet . Must be studying: Mechanical, Electrical and/or Mechatronics. As an Engineering Cadet, you will work closely with our experienced engineering team and gain practical experience in various aspects of mechanical design and analysis. It is envisaged that this role will start a long-term career with Downer and that following the degree you will remain an employee within the respective Engineering discipline to continue your development as a Graduate Engineer with Downer. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with senior engineers in the creation of detailed design drawings and participate in the prototyping process Utilise industry standard software to create models and detailed drawings for mechanical and electrical components and systems Support the testing and analysis of mechanical and electrical systems, identifying areas of improvement and optimisation Maintain accurate records of design iterations, test results and project documentation Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project execution What we offer Highly supportive, team orientated organisation Mentoring throughout cadetship Employee discounts and perks Downer is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
