Job Overview : We're seeking an Application Support Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of their advanced workflow applications. This is a 12-month contract position, with a high likelihood of transitioning to a permanent role based on performance and business needs. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, analyse, and resolve technical issues, providing high-quality support to their global customer base. The role operates on a hybrid basis, requiring candidates to work on-site in the Sydney CBD offices twice per week. Key Responsibilities : Provide 1st and 2nd level support for the company's suite of applications, resolving technical issues promptly. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and escalate complex application issues to development teams as necessary. Monitor application performance to proactively identify and address potential problems. Collaborate with developers on the Platform Engineering team to implement software patches, upgrades, and new releases. Document support procedures to enhance the team's ability to handle future incidents effectively. Work with users to understand their needs, provide training on software features, and deliver an excellent customer experience. Handle difficult customer interactions with empathy and professionalism, ensuring a positive outcome. Required Skills & Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). At least 2-3 years of experience in an application support role, ideally focused on supporting SaaS products. Strong sense of customer service and the ability to manage challenging situations effectively. Familiarity with workflow solutions, platforms, and related technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in JavaScript and experience working with databases; PostgreSQL experience is ideal, but candidates with experience in Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL will also be considered. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with users at all levels. Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and IT service management (ITSM) best practices. Experience with monitoring tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is a plus. Experience with IT workflows, IT Service Management (ITSM) Understanding of cloud-based platforms and software-as-a-service (SaaS) environments.
