Our client, one of Australia's most reputed and established manufacturers, is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Electrical Engineer to join their state-of-the-art facility in Northern Tasmania. About the role Project Management: Lead new installation, modernisation, and maintenance projects with a high degree of situational awareness. Procurement: Manage multi-million-dollar parts acquisitions, including document preparation, market tenders, and supplier evaluations with strong decision quality. Documentation: Prepare detailed work processes and tender documents without the need for supervision or proofing, demonstrating attention to detail. Contractor Management: Oversee contractors, ensuring quality control and functional/technical skills are upheld in all completed works. Problem Solving: Tackle complex challenges proactively, offering innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment. About you Curious and Action-Oriented: You are eager to learn and quick to take initiative. Minimum 2 years of experience working in an industrial electrical environment. In-depth knowledge of AS3000 Australian Electrical Codes and regulations. A degree in Electrical Engineering from an Australian university is preferred, or a degree from a Washington Accord recognised institution. Required Skills: Electrical/Electronic Engineering: Solid foundation in electrical and electronic systems. Control and Automation Systems: Strong understanding of control systems and automation processes. Programming Skills: Proficient in languages such as VBA, C++, MATLAB, and LabView. PLC, CPU, and MPU Knowledge: In-depth understanding of architectures and subcomponents of PLC, CPU, and MPU systems. Electrical Drawings and Schematics: Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics, with experience in executing basic modifications using AutoCAD. Networking and Serial Communication: Knowledge of network systems and serial communication protocols. Mathematical Methods: Application of mathematical techniques for system analysis and modelling. Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs. Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams, including contractors and consultants. Technical Documentation: Skilled in writing reports and creating operator instruction manuals. You'll work in a dynamic and delivery-critical environment where attention to detail, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills are highly valued.
