About the Role Reporting into the Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include: Being involved across the design, development and testing phases of the PDLC, designing systems for commercial, industrial and domestic use. Preparing technical drawings according to client specifications, for a range of electro-mechanical components/systems such as fan motors, oil filters, wind systems, generators, battery chargers, diesel engines, alternators, fuel systems etc., ensuring product is fit for purpose and in compliance with Australian & International standards. Performing FEA, CFD and structural analysis, while also running simulations to be tested in real-life, to ensure performance and manufacturability of systems/components. Work cross-functionally with pre-sales, and the rest of the engineering team to ensure delivery of products in a timely manner. Accurately estimating material and construction costs to ensure projects stick to budget expectations. To be successful you will need: A tertiary qualification in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering any other equivalent degree. 1-6 years’ worth of mechanical project experience, designing components/systems that make up diesel generators (i.e., diesel engines, alternators, cooling systems, oil/air filters etc.,) or have experience tinkering with cars or other hobbyist projects. Experience working with FEA, CFD, static/dynamic loading calculations, simulating resulting and ensuring products are fit for purpose. Experience working with Autodesk Inventor, although experience working with other CAD systems would also be acceptable. Ability to liaise with key internal & external stakeholders. Ability to work within a cross-functional team, centred around collaboration. What’s next?
