This is a senior role for an experienced data engineer who wants to contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria. Working closely with the Manager Data Strategy, Management and Transformation, you will actively contribute to a positive organisational culture and achieve the highest standards of performance and integrity; fostering genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to support the delivery organisational outcomes. In this role you will: Support team to assess enhancement requests, understand time and resource costs, tasks and skills required, and project planning. Support team to identify enterprise needs; design and build solutions for spatial and non-spatial data acquisition and ingestion, warehousing, architecture, and engineering based on requirements. Providing second and third level IT support, problem troubleshooting, and change support as they relate to the data engineering platform and products. Create and maintain technical documentation, including but not limited to define and design, service level agreements, interface agreements, quick reference guides, data registries. Skills and experience: Highly proficient in designing and developing data solutions using Microsoft Azure Cloud data technologies. Hands-on experience in Python, R and Rest APIs Knowledge of spatial data management (GIS) and ETL platforms preferably ArcGIS and FME workbench.
